Northwest Children’s Theater

Project Overview

  • Each theater is equipped with smoke detection, voice notification, and emergency overrides for lighting and music. The system also has the ability to ignore false alarms generated via the theatrical fog machines.

  • As part of this project, the elevator has been modernized and is now equipped with Phase 2 fire recall interconnected with the building fire alarm system.

  • The space is tied into the building's Simplex fire alarm system. A completely new IDMAP circuit has been run throughout to monitor and control the various systems and areas. The system has also been fitted with the ability to isolate the space to prevent false alarms from sounding throughout the building.

  • The Northwest Children’s Theater inhabits the old theater in the basement of the 1000 Broadway building. Before the NWCT occupied the space, it was formerly an ACT III Theater with 4 screens and a concession stand. Now the space has been repurposed for aspiring young performers to put on live productions in 3 of the remaining theaters.

  • During this project, I was the Estimator and Project Manager for the fire alarm scope for Dynalectric. Working in conjunction with Johnson Controls, and our field team, we executed a compliant installation on time and on budget.
